1. Who we are
MenuIndex is a market intelligence platform covering Dubai restaurants, cafés, bars and lounges in the $$–$$$$ price segment ("MenuIndex", "we", "us"). It publishes aggregated menu price benchmarks built from open-source data. Contact: team@menuindex.net.
2. The Products
MenuIndex Products are digital goods: market intelligence reports delivered as PDF documents. Each Product page describes its scope, contents and format; the delivery window is confirmed at checkout. All reports contain aggregated, anonymised market statistics. Reports do not identify individual restaurants and do not contain personal data, sales data, or any non-public information.
2a. Selection criteria: what the data is built from
The same criteria apply to every Product and are restated in the methodology section of each report:
- Open-source data only. All data is derived exclusively from open-source information: menu content published by restaurants themselves on their own official websites and publicly accessible to any visitor. We use no confidential, proprietary, licensed or purchased data, no sales or transaction data, and no information obtained from restaurants privately.
- No aggregators. Delivery platforms, reservation platforms, review sites and third-party listing services are excluded as sources by design.
- Defined market segment. Coverage is limited to Dubai restaurants, cafés, bars and lounges in the $$–$$$$ price segment (upper-casual through fine dining). Many of the places covered are more than one of these at once, for example a restaurant that runs its own bar or a lounge with a full kitchen. Budget and fast-food outlets are outside the scope of the dataset.
- Priced menus only. MenuIndex indexes the menus a restaurant publishes with prices. A menu line published without a price of its own, because the price belongs to a set menu or the kitchen prints market price, is recorded as part of the menu and excluded from every calculation.
- When a breakdown is withheld. Every published figure is an aggregate. Any breakdown drawn narrowly enough to point at an individual restaurant is withheld rather than published or estimated.
Because coverage depends on what restaurants choose to publish, the dataset is not a census of the Dubai market. Every report states the basis of its figures and the criteria above.
3. Ordering and payment
Purchases on the Site are processed by our authorised reseller and merchant of record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd). When you place an order, your contract of sale for the Product is with Paddle, and Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, and applicable sales taxes (including UAE VAT where relevant). Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the transaction in addition to these Terms.
All prices are stated on the Site in AED (or the equivalent in your local currency at checkout) and include a description of what is delivered.
4. Delivery
Each report is produced individually. Products are delivered as PDF documents to the email address provided at checkout, within the delivery window confirmed at checkout for that order. Delivery windows are measured in business days, Monday–Friday. If we cannot deliver within the confirmed window, we will notify you and you may request a full refund under our Refund Policy.
5. Licence and permitted use
Upon delivery, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Product for the internal business purposes of your organisation. You may not:
- resell, redistribute, publish, or make the Product (in whole or substantial part) available to third parties;
- use the Product to create a competing data product or service;
- remove or alter attribution, notices, or disclaimers contained in the Product.
Brief excerpts may be quoted in internal presentations and materials with attribution to "MenuIndex".
6. Data, methodology, and disclaimers
Reports are prepared with care from structured menu data collected from open-source sources under the selection criteria set out in section 2a. MenuIndex does not verify, and accepts no responsibility for, the accuracy, completeness or currency of menu information published by restaurants on their own websites; reports reflect that information as published at the time of data collection. Menu prices and offerings change over time. Products are provided for informational and strategic planning purposes only and do not constitute financial, legal, or investment advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MenuIndex shall not be liable for decisions made or actions taken based on the information contained in a Product.
7. Free materials
We publish free materials on the Site, including our methodology document and a shortened sample report. They may be downloaded and read without an account or a purchase. Free materials are provided "as is", are subject to the same licence restrictions as paid Products, and may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
8. Acceptable use of the Site
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access to systems or data, scraping the Site at scale, or interfering with its operation.
9. Intellectual property
The Site, the MenuIndex name and logo, and all Products are protected by intellectual property rights owned by or licensed to us. Restaurant names and trademarks that may be referenced in materials are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification purposes.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with a Product is limited to the amount paid for that Product. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase, and the current version is always the one published on this page.
12. Governing law
Your purchase is a transaction with Paddle as merchant of record and is governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. These Terms, which cover your use of the Site and your licence to the Products, are governed by the laws of Ukraine.
